Man arrested after motorcyclist, 29, dies in A4059 Aberdare crash

Police are investigating the crash which happened at the roundabout to Llwydcoed in Aberdare

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Aberdare afternoon on Friday afternoon .

The 29-year-old motorcyclist, who lived in the Merthyr Tydfil area, died following the crash at around 4.10pm on the A4059 at the roundabout to Llwydcoed.

South Wales Police said a blue and white Yamaha motorcycle struck the roundabout signage and a black VW Polo.

Police said a man has been arrested and is currently assisting them with their enquirires.

The road was closed for around four hours while police carried out initial investigations and recovered the vehicles.

Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who stopped to provide assistance, or anyone who may have seen the motorcycle being driven prior to the collision with a second motorcycle and who have not yet given their details.
